In the Vinteo video conferencing system it is recommended to use videos in the following format:

  1. the video size is no more than 512 MB;
  2. the video bitrate is no more than 6 Mbit/s;
  3. there must be an audio track. If sound is not required then leave the track silent;
  4. recommended video codecs: H.264 + MP3 (.MP4).

Videos of other formats may brings problems playing in a conference.

To convert video to the recommended format you can use the following instructions:

  1. Download and install VLC media player;
  2. launch VLC;
  3. press CTRL+R or select "Convert/Save" from the "Media" menu;
  4. add the video to the file selection; it should appear in the list of selected files then click convert/save;
  5. make sure that the desired file is selected in the source; select the "Convert" setting and the Video profile - H.264 + MP3 (MP4); select where to save the final (converted) file and click "Start";
  6. Wait while VLC converts the file. The conversion process will be displayed in the playback time bar and the window title will be "Converting file..."
  7. There will be no notification about the completion of the conversion; the conversion will end when the title of the VLC window no longer says "Converting file..."
