Purpose of the software

Vinteo Desktop is the video conferencing software client that works with the Vinteo video conferencing server. It allows you to conduct high-definition video conferencing (up to 1080p) on regular desktop computers or laptops and supports DuoVideo mode.

Main characteristics

• cross-platform: work on Windows, Mac OS and Linux operating systems;
• support for H.264 and VP8 video codecs;
• support for OPUS and G.711 audio codecs;
• interface localization in Russian, English, German, French, Spanish;
• support for 2 video streams.

Vinteo Desktop functions

• calls to accounts of the Vinteo Server point-to-point video conferencing server;
• calls to video conference rooms on the Vinteo Server;
• the ability to create a local address book with import and export;
• the ability to broadcast the desktop;
• processing hyperlinks of the form "vinteo://...";
• the ability to register an account on the server and make outgoing anonymous calls;
• support for auto answering incoming calls;
• automatic detection and selection of devices (camera, microphone);
• possibility of organizing web broadcasts;
• "Request of word" functionality;
• simultaneous translation functionality, interface for translators.

Restrictions

When using Vinteo Desktop with registration on the Vinteo videoconferencing server an account with the WS type must be created on the server. Working with other types of accounts (SIP, H323, Loop) is not supported.
